Options for Parent Resource Classes

1.  Adventures in Parenting

TIRED OF EVERYONE GIVING YOU PARENTING ADVICE? NOT SURE WHAT PARENTING RESOURCES
      ARE THE BEST?
CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT REALLY WORKS? BORED WITH YOUR CURRENT
       PARENTING METHOD?
Respond, Prevent, Monitor, Mentor, and Model = RPM3a no-frills approach
to parenting from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).
For over 30 years,
the NICHD has conducted and supported research in parenting and child development talking to experts,
parents, and children. NICHD has collected statistics, identified myths, and tested suggestions. The RPM3
guidelines aren’t meant to be just another parenting “how to,” telling you what to do. Instead, RPM3 separates
the useful information from the not-so-useful so that you can make your own decisions about parenting. RPM3
       does more than
tell stories about what people think about parenting, it incorporates 30 years of NICHD
research to tell you what really works.
RPM3 confirms something that you already know: parents do matter.

You matter.
2.  The Parenting Puzzle: Pulling the Pieces Together

Answers to your questions about what works, what doesn't work, and getting a glimpse of the big picture of
      parenting.

3.  Coffee, Cookies and Choices

Children of all ages need security of boundaries and limitations on behavior.  The most loving thing parents
and care-givers can do is to help children learn to control their own behavior, to exercise self-discipline, and to
say "no" to themselves.  The Choices, Cookies and Kids Theory is the basis for self-discipline, teaches
decision making which in turn develops self-responsibility and promotes self-control.  Parents who have
attended this class say that it has helped changed their parent-child relationship for the better.
