What
is the Supervised Visitation/Exchange Program?
Download Brochure
The Supervised Visitation/Exchange Program was created
to provide a safe, neutral and friendly surrounding that
would encourage positive and comfortable interaction
between non-custodial parents and children. There was a
void in our community for a supervised visitation
program outside of what was being provided by Ross
County Children's Services and this need was realized by
the Child Protection Center, Common Pleas Judges and
Ross County Commissioners. Working together, the
supervised visitation/exchange program began. The visits and
exchanges are held at the Child Protection Center and
are scheduled upon referral from the Common Pleas
Judges, both Juvenile and Criminal Divisions. The Child
Protection Center's initial goal is to aid families in
working together to provide a happy and hopeful
environment for their children.
Services Provided
> Supervised Exchanges:

Child Protection Center provides a neutral exchange
location. Exchanges are done on site for those parents

from both parents or without interaction. The exchanges
are monitored to ensure a non-confrontational exchange.
> Supervised
Visitation:
Visits are done on site and closely monitored by
trained staff. If necessary, the monitor will intervene
for the safety of the child(ren). Our center is equipped
with toys and games for all ages to promote interaction
and fun activities for families.
> Spot Checks:
Periods of intermittent times, the monitor will
observe the visiting parent and child. the checks can be
anywhere from 10, 15, 20 minute intervals, set
accordingly to each case.
