Pinwheels for Prevention: 1029 pinwheels will be planted at the entrance Yoctangee Park on April
2, 2008. The pinwheels represent the number of reports of child
abuse or neglect in 2005 in Ross County. Ross County is
pleased to be one of 66 counties participating in the
Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign in Ohio.
The Child
Protection Center was designed by a group of local
agencies in Ross County, Ohio to assure that children who have been
physically or sexually abused receive appropriate
attention in a timely manner. The Center also provides
support to the children's families.
The
mission of the Child Protection Center of Ross County, a
Children's Advocacy Center, is to reduce the incidence
and trauma of child abuse through a coordinated
multi-agency approach. To promote healthy children,
families, and communities through the professional
provision of education, prevention and protective
services.
Our 11th
annual Kid's Day is coming up! Kid’s
Day is a fun day of classes for children in
the area to take. Last year180
children participated at OU-C. The children learned
new skills, took home give-aways and met
new people. The event will be held on
April 19, 2008 (Saturday) at Ohio
University-Chillicothe.

Memorial Golf Classic
The Golf Classic will be held on August
16th, 2008
at the Jaycee Public Golf Course. The tournament is a benefit for the Child Protection Center of Ross County.
Last year the event raised
about $15,000! We would like to thank everyone
who supported this event!
